If you’re looking for a way to improve your leadership skills and become more involve in our lodge, National Leadership Seminar (NLS) is just what you need. Ask anyone who has attended: NLS is one of the funnest, most inspiring and motivating weekends they have experience in Scouting.
NLS prepares Arrowmen to become better leaders inside and outside of Scouting. The program enhances the leadership skills of key youth and adult members as they seek to improve their services to Scouting and the greater community. The format complements the longer, more detailed National Youth Leadership Training program (for youth) and Wood Badge program (for adults). You will make a contract with yourself to apply the skills learned on projects in the lodge, council, and community.
The seminar is an intensive experience in learning about the nature of leadership and practicing some of the skills that a leader uses. While it is designed to be fun, the course challenges participants mentally as well.
Who should attend?
Any key youth, lodge officer, or adult member seeking to improve their leadership skills and improve their services to the Boy Scouts of American and the greater community.
Our lodge will pay the fees of youth who attend NLS.
Developing Youth Leadership Conference (DYLC)
Developing Youth Leadership Conference (DYLC) is a weekend conference focusing on the skills and attributes of effective lodge advisers. It is intended primarily to enhance an adviser’s knowledge of and connectivity with the OA’s strategic plan, program and resources, while emphasizing personal skills that are essential to the development of effective youth leadership and ultimately the OA’s service to the council.
