After extensive research and countless hours of work, Wenasa Quenhotan debuted new regalia at Spring Fellowship 2021! The new ceremonial outfits are meant to invoke the clothing that was worn by leaders of the Sac and Fox tribes that inhabited this region before European settlers arrived. This change is in keeping with national guidance for lodges to reflect the Native American traditions from their region of the country. Discussions about new regalia actually began more than five years ago, but various issues delayed the process. Under the direction of Ceremonies Advisor Gary Ohler, and with the support of the LEC, it is now mostly complete. Special recognition and thanks Roberta Hudson for her patience and skillful sewing on many of the pieces, Joe Mathews for hand assembling kits and Jacob Nemec, who served as Ceremonies Chair during most of the process. We look forward to improving and embellishing this regalia for years to come.
